With player housing introduced in Ascension™, and the current set of housing auctions coming to an end, many of you now have your very own place to call your own in Atreia! Whether you have a lavish mansion or a cozy studio, let your inner interior designer take over and participate in the Decorate your space contest!

All Daevas of level 20 and above are eligible to participate and show off their decorating skills from Friday May 11th to 11:59 PM CDT, Friday May 18th. We’ll choose the top three best-decorated homes, and award the winners special 60-day, two-drawer cabinets! (Each drawer has 9 slots of storage space!)

Submit up to three screenshots of your space here, or if you would prefer, e-mail them to community_aion_en@ncsoft.com. Be creative, but no photo-manipulation is allowed!

Server Maintenance and Black Cloud Marketplace update May 9, 5:30 AM CDT

We will be bringing the Aion servers down for maintenance tomorrow, May 9, at 5:30 AM CDT. During this time we will be bringing a major update to the Black Cloud Marketplace to coincide with the server maintenance. Estimated time to complete is approximately 3 hours; please note that additional time may be required to ensure the massively-updated Black Cloud Marketplace and the Aion servers open at the same time!

The Aion website will also be inaccessible during this maintenance period as we service it for the update.

Store Update coming Wednesday, May 9!

Get ready to gear up this Wednesday, May 9, with a massive update to the Black Cloud Marketplace!

We’re adding over 100 new items including mounts, pets, housing items, felicitous socketing supplements, and much much more!

We’re also bundling popular items together to bring our players more value: look for emote packs (old and new!), as well as a 15-day Administrator’s Boon Passes and 15-day AP Boost Packs, more than doubling the duration of the current versions! (Please note that the 7-day versions of these items will no longer be available following the update. Now would be a great time to stock up on the 7-day Administrator’s Boons and AP Boost Pack, as the price will be lower than the 15-day versions!)

The Broken Alliance Event: rifting and rewards from 5/2 to 5/16!

To face the growing Balaur threat, Elyos and Asmodians were forced into a shaky alliance. Now, as the reluctant allies travel further into Balaur territory, their uneasy truce breaks and Elyos and Asmodians find themselves at each others’ throats!

A Broken Alliance is a two-week long event from Wednesday, May 2, to Wednesday, May 16. Here’s what Daevas can look forward to:

Rifting Event!

Every day during A Broken Alliance, all rifting portals will open from 6pm to 10pm Central Time in Beluslan and Heiron! Fight to your heart’s content as faction protection buffs in Morheim, Beluslan, Eltnen, and Heiron are lifted (rifts will spawn naturally in Morheim and Eltnen); but be aware the slayer system will be in effect on all servers!

Daily, weekly, and special rewards!

Support your faction on the battlefield and receive a daily survey reward: a Half Rabbit Shugo Form Candy, which increases your speed and strike and spell resistance! Kill at least one enemy each week and receive a weekly [Event] Small Chaos Candy Box! You’ll want to be active on the battlefield, because the 100th, 200th, and 300th players on each faction who qualify will each receive a very special Cirruspeed mount!

Legendary Raid Monster spawn!

Each Sunday during the Broken Alliance Event legendary monsters Ragnarok and Omega will spawn in Belusran and Heiron, respectively! Ragnarok spawns for Asmodians at 7pm Central; Omega spawns for Elyos at 9pm Central!

The truce between Elyos and Asmodians shatters on May 2! Mark your calendars for A Broken Alliance!

Server maintenance 4/25; housing auctions open tomorrow!

We have temporarily removed Pando Media Booster so that we can test a variety of server-side adjustments regarding download completion rates and further refine the service we provide our players. We will bring Pando Media Booster back once we've optimized our service to provide the best download rates possible.

Currently, players may download and update Aion: Ascension™ directly through the NC Launcher.

Outbreak of War Starts Tomorrow!

Starting tomorrow grab your potions and scrolls and get ready for the Outbreak of War event!
From April 11 to April 25, players can wage war more often with reduced cooldowns for ten of the most popular instances, including Esoterrace and Udas!

Be sure to look forward to the weekends of April 13 and April 20, when kinah, item drops, AP (PvE), and crafting XP will be boosted 20%! Durring these weekends will be an ideal time to race to that new level cap of 60 and try out the new instances to get some of that new gear!

There are just a few days left for Daevas to pre-purchase items from the new Black Cloud Marketplace! These items will be delivered via express mail on April 11th when Aion: Ascension launches!

If you purchase a large C.U.B.E. from the store, you will additionally receive bonus items! This will be an ongoing feature of the large C.U.B.E. The bonus items currently are:

Alluring Box – open this box to get a surprise gift! A relic? A medal? Some edible goodies? Who knows what tempting treats you might find in this box?

Name Reservation Restricted

Hello Daevas,

Thank you for your continued support and love for Aion and the upcoming launch on 4/11 of the new Truly Free iteration with the highly anticipated 3.0 content.

As you know we opened up name reservations for the new server, Kahrun. That server is to go online on 4/11.

The response has been tremendous and we are again gratified by your dedication and affinity for the Aion service.

As of today we have reached the limit of the name reservations we can take on Kahrun before it opens. (Entirely due to the community’s enthusiasm!) So from about 10PM Pacific Time until the official launch, players will no longer be able to reserve names on Kahrun.

Fortunately on launch day, Wednesday April 11th, players will be able to fully create their characters, with their desired name, as on any other new server.

We thank you again for your understanding for this slight change of plans. It is NCsoft’s desire to provide the most robust and enjoyable experience to all Aion players and with coming of Aion: Ascension we hope that you have seen, and will soon enjoy, the hard work and dedication our team has poured into this herculean effort.

Conversion to Truly Free Gives Players NCoin!

We wish to give a heartfelt thank you to all of the Daevas who have supported Aion® in the past few years. With the release of Aion®: Ascension™, we’ve evolved away from the subscription model and adopted our popular and innovative Truly Free™ concept which gives players more choices for how they play.

On April 4, 2012, your account type will change from standard to Truly Free™ in preparation for the launch of Aion: Ascension on April 11th, 2012. All current, future or recurring billing will be eliminated on April 4! Also, as part of going Truly Free, formerly inactive accounts that are in good standing will be activated at this same time. We welcome everyone back to gear up and get ready for the launch of Aion: Ascension!

Any remaining game time on your account will be converted into NCoin™ at a rate of 40 NCoin per remaining day for which you had already paid. Please note that this conversion may take a couple of days to fully process on all accounts.

Additionally, that NCoin can be used immediately! The Black Cloud Marketplace ™ will open for business on April 4th as well! Our pre-order program allows you to purchase items immediately to be delivered to your character on April 11th when Aion: Ascension launches! Take advantage of ordering in advance to be ready to go on launch day!

Aion ®: Ascension ™ Honors Kahrun for its Launch!

We are excited to announce the launch of a brand new Aion® server!

On April 4, 2012, ‘Kahrun’ – a new Central Time Zone server - will open up early for name reservations and character creation. Players will be able to log in and reserve their names on Kahrun and then enjoy playing those new characters when Aion: Ascension launches on April 11th.

Kahrun is the leader of the Reian people in Sarpan. It is through his will and magic that the Elyos and Asmodians were able to come together in a reluctant alliance against the Dragon Lord Tiamat. As governor of Sarpan and prime military leader for the push into Tiamaranta, Kahrun represents a new beginning on the face of an old war. But are his hopes and dreams strong enough to put an end to a war that has raged for thousands of years?
