Player of the Month September 2011
When did you start playing Aion?
My husband introduced me to Aion back in September 2009, when he was playing the beta. This is actually my first MMO. I've played a few FPSs and RPGs over the years, but I was never really interested in MMOs until I saw a bit of Aion's game play. After watching my husband play one weekend, I knew that I had to try the "pretty game." I started playing during the third closed beta and fell in love instantly. Since then, I've enjoyed every minute of my time in Aion.
How would you describe your playing style?
I consider myself a fairly casual player. I have a demanding day job and other real life obligations that keep me pretty busy, so I don't get to play as much as I'd like; but when I do, I like to have a good time. I will run pretty much any instance, but what I really love is PvP. Whether it's fighting over a surkana in Dredgion, defending my faction's ownership of a fortress, or just running across an enemy player sneaking around in my territory, PvP is a big part of my game.
What kinds of things do you enjoy doing in Aion?
I really enjoy crafting. I have mastered Cooking and Alchemy, and I'm currently working on getting to expert level in Tailoring. I pride myself on having nearly maxed out Aethertapping and Essencetapping for Harleykin, and now I'm working on doing the same for each of my alts. I also love running instances with friends and Legion members. Since I have alts ranging from levels 15 to 55, I can run just about anything.
What changes in Aion have you liked the most?
The recent graphics enhancements have made Aion really come alive with a clarity and detail that I haven't seen in other games. The steady stream of content updates since release has given players lots of activities to choose from, rather than the same old grind. I'm always looking forward to what's coming next: Where's the next battle, what am I going to buy, what am I going to make, what am I going to run?
If you had to name one thing that you love most about Aion, what would it be?
I love the incredible graphics and the broad range of choices for customizing my character, but the thing I love most is the community. Not only is Aion beautiful and fun to play, the caliber of players here is unlike what I've seen in other online games. I have met the most incredible people in-game! Aion is not only a favorite pastime, it also allows me to stay connected to online (and a few offline) friends.
