Eye on Community 7-16-2010
It's been a long week here at NCSOFT with the server merges, character transfers, final preparations for San Diego Comic Con, and our big Aion®: Assault on Balaurea™ announcement to name a few. Miss something? No worries! We're taking another look at a couple topics you might have overlooked.
All Aion players in North America and Europe can begin exploring the world far beyond the territories of Asmodae and Elysea starting September 7, 2010.
When the servers came back online after the server merge, all Daevas were given a set of goals to accomplish for a chance to win amazing in-game prizes. Many of these have already been completed, yet still more remain to be discovered!
Our Character Transfer account service has opened and character moves will be free for a limited time. We will be transferring characters that sign up for this service every Wednesday during scheduled maintenance. Sign up today!
During the free character move period (from July 15, 2010 to August 25, 2010), your characters can score some extra loot by making sure they're fighting on the right side. Now that the servers have been merged, please make sure that you have characters of only one raceeither Elyos or Asmodianon each of the servers. If you do, you are golden. If not, sign up quickly for free character moves to transfer some of your characters so that you have only one race on a server.
After the server merges we have come to a time of transition. During this time, we encourage you to embrace this transition as a chance to strengthen your server's community. It is easy to fall into the trap of excluding or rejecting players or Legions because they weren't here previously on this server and "don't know how we do things." Just as we are resetting the Abyss forts, this is a chance to reset, regroup, reorganize, and strengthen your community. We encourage you to reach out, be friendly, and have fun with your new server-mates. Open your mind to new, positive possibilities.
Question of the Week
Qorth of New Zikel asks:
"With the ability to transfer off servers, as well as the ongoing Dash of the Daevas event, will those who successfully completed one of the boss kills for Dash of the Daevas be able to receive their reward if they transfer to another server before the two weeks end?"
Great question, Qorth!
We have received a lot of feedback on the event and have actually implemented a couple of tweaks.
The winners of all achievements during the Dash of the Daevas will be announced in two different batches. Due to your quick progress, we will first announce all named mob firsts next week, before the first set of character transfers are put in motion. If you are eligible for a prize in any of those categories, you should therefore receive it before the transfer is executed.
Faction wide rewards, with the exception of Menotios, will not be announced until the end of the initially specified two-week period. This means that any character that moves away from a server in which he or she participated in achieving an accomplishment will not get the reward.
In light of a successful server merge, we have decided to award a runners-up prize for all race rewards to the race that doesn't make it all the way to achieving a first.
