Question of the Week

Arielin from Meslamtaeda asked:

"I would like an explanation of how to reach Draupnir Cave easily as an Elyos. Do I have to do the Meeting a Mau Spy quest, and where is the Corridor for the cave located?"

Greetings Daevas,

Clear out your backpack, load up on potions, and get ready for more double experience action! That's right—another double experience weekend is on the horizon! This is a superb chance for returning players to dive back in and for new players to level up that first character. This weekend is also a great time to check out the new additions from 1.9 or take advantage of the faster increase in gathering and crafting skills. Enjoy!

Question of the Week

Shadria of Vaizel asked:

"I have no daily quests button on my screen. How does one start this?"

Greetings Daevas,

This week we released our first major update for Aion, which was met with a lot of excitement and positive feedback. We're extremely proud of the update, which sets the stage for the upcoming Aion®: Assault on Balaurea™ expansion scheduled to be released in the fall of this year. This recent update and the future expansion were designed to complement one another, so there's still plenty to look forward to in the coming months.

With that said, we're curious to know what you think about 1.9, and that's our Topic of the Week.

Greetings Daevas,

This week the highly anticipated 1.9 update went live on the public test server, and guess what, we've had thousands of players online testing the new content before it goes to the live servers this upcoming Wednesday.

As exciting as that is, we've been busy releasing new videos this week, including a new Aion Podcast, a preview of what's coming with our free fall expansion, Aion®: Assault on Balaurea, and our third installment of our educational PSA series, The More You MMO, Earn Your Powers.

Make sure to give them a gander, but first check out our Question of the Week!

Greetings Daevas,

It's been an exciting week here at NCSOFT! Many of you have probably already seen the letter from our producer, Chris "Kinslon" Hager. In the letter, Chris gets down to business releasing the live date for v1.9, a general timeframe for 2.0, and brief tidbits about our plans for server transfers and server merges. If you haven't yet read it, I'd encourage you to do so!

For those of you playing on the PTS, you've probably noticed that we've begun to make sections of 1.9 available for incremental patching. Many of you have asked us why we've begun to release pieces of the patch in the PTS, and the answer is simple: your convenience. Because of the sheer size of this update, we wanted to make it easy for our players to download the update. We plan to use the same patching strategy on the live servers, and you can expect to see that begin sometime next week.

Greetings Aion Players!

Spring is in the air, the sun is out and the days are getting longer, and that means it's time for update news! After much anticipation, I am happy to announce the 1.9 update will be available on the North American and European public test servers on Tuesday May 25, 2010. A week later, the 1.9 update will hit North American and European Live servers on Wednesday June 2, 2010. As you might have read in the 1.9 patch notes or the 1.9 Q&A with Kinslon, the 1.9 update includes a number of great game improvements based on player feedback from around the world. We listened to your concerns about where the game play experience was less than stellar, collected data to support this, and requested those changes to the game for the 1.9 update and we continue to provide this feedback for future updates too. Along with a reduction in costs, better experience for quests and increased loot drops, we also threw in a collection of exciting systems and updates such as arms fusion, daily quests, rental weapon/armor system and a new look for group UI feature that are all aimed at improving the player's experience.
