Eye on Community — February 2011

Greetings Daevas,

In this month in Eye on Community, we bring you interviews with Hayate of Urtem and the Another Cold Day Legion, an article on the Atreian Stock Market, and a look at fashion accessories in the Master Craft segment. You can also get a player's perspective of the Love to the Rescue and Vanity Fayre live events through screenshots. And by the way, a big "grats" again to the winners of Vanity Fayre: Season One!

This month we're also hosting Gateway Getaway and Double XP events. For two weeks, we open new entrances to the Chambers of Roah, Asteria Chambers, Kysis Chamber, Mieren Chambers, and Abyssal Splinter. These entrances in Reshanta are at Primum (Asmodian) and Teminon (Elyos). Now you can try several fortress instances regardless of faction ownership and level up more quickly if you haven't gotten to 55 to run the fortresses.

Have fun, and see you in-game!

Eye on Community — January 2011

Greetings Daevas,

First, on behalf of everyone here at NCSOFT, we wish you a happy new year to you and your family. May 2011 bring you everything that you have ever wanted in your personal, professional, and gaming lives!

As you know from our last issue of Eye on Community of 2010, we decided to move from a weekly to a monthly format to provide you more meaty content and a more interesting read. This issue was pushed back due to legal reasons. This threw a slight kink into the systems. However, moving forward we're going to work around those issues to bring you quality news and content. We apologize for the inconvenience.

This issue marks the start of this new format. In this revamped Eye on Community, the column will contain cornerstone topics and standalone feature articles. Cornerstone topics include the monthly summary (which you are currently reading) and community news, creative highlights (videos, screenshots, music, and so), and contests.

Standalone articles will vary from month to month. They might feature a player or a Legion, provide news from Korea (patch notes, videos, fan creations), share topics and quotes of the month, offer players' tips, focus on the most popular items recently sold on the Trade Broker, or deliver whatever other interesting information that pops up for you. The standalone articles will provide variety, so we give you as much entertaining and interesting information to read as possible through Eye on Community.

Let's come back to the highlights of this month, shall we?

The Aion 2.1 Part 2 update headed to the North American and European live servers on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Aion 2.1 part 2 focuses on crafting in Aion, and includes new crafting recipes.

Greetings Daevas,

The past week we focused on your game security, as myriad Aion accounts were upgraded with character PIN numbers as an extra layer of security. Regardless of whether you have or haven't had run-ins with hackers or the RMT underworld before, the changes that have been made strengthen your account security, and we sincerely hope that you'll find the system beneficial.

On a more festive note, don't miss the coming 10 days of reactivation! We're starting the holidays off early this year, and beginning today, players with inactive accounts (that are in good standing) can come back and try the improved drop rates of …

Fall Community Address: Open Letter from Chris Hager

Greetings, Daevas of Atreia!

I can't believe it's already fall. With the turning of the season, another year has passed in the world of Aion. It's been an exciting year. From the 1.9 update in June, taking us through a fantastic games event season from PAX to gamescom, and then through the launch of our first major free retail expansion, Aion®: Assault on Balaurea™ on September 7, the game has evolved at a rapid pace. But 2010's not over yet! We have some great initiatives coming up that will keep the momentum from 2010 rolling right into 2011.
