Double Experience Weekend Incoming

Greetings Daevas,

Who's ready for another Double Experience Weekend?! That's right! It's time to once again stock up on caffeinated products in preparation for a weekend without sleep. This Friday, January 22nd, at 8pm (server time), we will enable double experience. The experience bonus will run through the weekend before ending on Monday at 8am (server time).

To put the start time into context, we've broken down what time the double experience will start on each server. Plan accordingly and enjoy the double experience!

Chris "Kinslon" Hager Named Aion Producer

Greetings Daevas,

Now that we're well into a new year, we're going to begin talking about the almost overwhelming amount of things we have in store for Aion in 2010. It's only fitting that with the new year comes new leadership on Aion. As such, Chris "Kinslon" Hager has taken a step up from Associate Producer and has been named Aion's Producer.

You may know Chris already — he's been with NCSOFT since the fall of 2005. He has worked on multiple NCSOFT titles throughout the years including Guild Wars, Lineage II and Aion. His passion for games goes far beyond his profession: He's also a hardcore gamer that plays games across multiple platforms. Some of his favorite titles include: Bioshock, Mass Effect and the Legend of Zelda series (He's never been able to decide on a favorite.)

Solorius Festival Video Contest Winners

Last week the Solorius Festival Video Contest came to an official end. Since that time, we've been watching videos in an effort to narrow these fantastic videos down to our favorite ten. On Wednesday, 12 members of the Aion team were locked in a conference room to view the videos that made it to the finals. It wasn't easy, but we're happy to announce that we've chosen our winners. Drum roll, please!

First Prize: Twas the Night of Solorius
Nikole Gamble of Minneapolis, Minnesota

Second Prize: Shugo Baby
Amanda Hampton of Salt Lake City, Utah

Third Prize: Solorius Claus
Tim Asta of Seattle, Washington

Aion: Best MMO of 2009

Aion has quickly become one of the most lauded new entries to the gaming industry last year, battling its way to the top and earning high honors from those within the industry. Everyone here at NCSOFT would like to thank our talented development team, unwavering operations folks and most importantly our wonderful community. Our fans are what make this game great and we couldn't have had such a great year without you. We're looking forward to what great heights Aion will attain in 2010.

Azphel Server Rollback

Greetings Daevas of Azphel,

Earlier today we began to receive reports that a small number of players on the Azphel server had received over 30 trillion Kinah as part of a reward glitch. Since that time, we've brought down the Azphel server and have been working diligently to identify how to restore economic stability. We've made the decision to rollback the Azphel server data to 6:00am CST this morning and will continue to monitor all servers for related anomalies.

It's important to understand that we saw the rollback as a last option and made every effort to avoid doing so. We're currently performing the rollback and anticipate the server will be back online sometime on Tuesday, January 5th. At that point, all character progression on Azphel will be restored to its state as of this morning.
