Updated Veteran Rewards

Today marks the introduction of Veteran Rewards for players who have had an active Aion account for seven months and beyond. The Aion Veteran Rewards program was introduced as a token of our appreciation to reward Daevas that have played Aion with unwavering dedication. Now that you've received the six month reward, it's time to unveil what we have planned next.

Months 7, 8, 10 and 11: Honored Daeva

For each of these months we will give you tools of recovery and revival, along with a Major Ancient Crown that serves as the ultimate gift card for a player of your status.

Month 9: Guardian Daeva

Ask Kinslon: Aion v1.9 Interview #1

Aion v1.9 is coming up just around the corner and our Daeva of Journalism, Aquilanius, had the opportunity to interrogate Producer Chris "Kinslon" Hager. During the interview, Kinslon is forthcoming with the nitty-gritty information about the stun defense system and daily quests coming in 1.9. Over the coming weeks we plan to continue these mini interviews until Kinslon's information well is dry. Stay tuned!

Aquilanius: How exactly will the stun defense skills work?

Kinslon: You can purchase the Remove Shock skill from your character's appropriate skill trainer (preceptor). Once your character has learned the skill you've purchased, if your character becomes stunned in combat, Remove Shock becomes available as a chain skill that you can use to remove the stun and increase your character's resistance to stun, knockback, and similar conditions for 7 seconds. At later levels, class-specific skills that you can also learn will act as chain skills that let you go on the offensive in addition to the basic abilities of Remove Shock.

Relaunch of the Official Forums

Greetings Daevas,

Earlier today we launched the beta version of our new and improved forums. We're still working hard to improve them and will continue to do so throughout the rest of the week. As we gather your feedback and find bugs of our own, we will intermittently bring the forums down for maintenance. Because of this maintenance, the Aion forums will be offline from time to time throughout this week.

When the forums are unavailable, you can follow the Community Team through the following channels.

Meet Team Aion at Sakura-Con

Several members of the Aion team will be hosting a panel during Sakura-Con this Saturday, April 3, at 3:00 p.m. PDT in Seattle, Washington. During the panel, Aion Producer Chris Hager, Game Content Writer Jessica Downs, and Community Manager Andrew Beegle will be talking about bringing Aion from the East to the West and will be presenting a clear example of those eastern roots and how they relate to anime.

If you can't make the event but live in Seattle, feel free to follow our whereabouts using Foursquare. If you track us down, we might even have some goodies for you!

Atreian Soul Healers Bribed!

It has come to our attention that Fergus McGreedy has spent the remainder of his treasure bribing the Soul Healers of Atreia. As a result, the Shugo bankers seeking McGreedy have instituted a hefty bounty to anyone who can catch him alive. McGreedy gave our intrepid reporter a brief interview in the midst of a rather raucous drinking session.

"Well, see . . . I know a few wee little beasties had been sort of, erm, set freeduring my little jig through Atreia. Now, I'm all fer a *hic* good punch upevery now n' then, but it seems my memories weren't quite the craic they were back when they weren't memories, n' I was a spritely little leprechaun kneedeep in Brax sh-HEY! I'VE RUN OUT OF BEER! HEY! YOU! BEER! B-E-E-R! Tanks!

Look Forward to New Forums Next Week

Last week we began carefully spreading the word about the approaching new vBulletin-basedforums for the official site. The more frequent forum dwellers among you probably caught wind of this and have begun to back up your important posts already. Now we would like each of our forum users to back up his or her important posts sooner rather than later! The old forums will be buried soon, paving the wayfor the arrival of the new forums on Monday, April 5, 2010, 10:00 am PDT (more).

The new forums will be using vBulletin. They will offer a much wider array of functionality than the current ones do. This change offers the Community Team ample opportunity to improve our activities as well. Not only will our postings be more prominent, but you will also see increased support from other departments here at NCSOFT.Some of the nice features you'll see coming with the new vBulletin forums include:
