Recently we invited Aion players to the Seattle studio to preview 3.0 and give player feedback! An awesome time was had by all who participated! Players got to play on the internal test server and see the new mounts, housing, instances, and maps. Afterwards, we interviewed them to get their reactions and feedback on both 3.0 and Truly Free. Tune in the see what they thought!
Here are the details of how name conflicts will be resolved!
In order to minimize name conflicts caused by low level inactive characters, all characters below level 9 that have been inactive for over one year (have not logged in since March 28, 2011) will be deleted. This applies to ALL characters, not just characters on inactive accounts. If you have a character on your active account that is below level 9, but you have not logged into that character in over a year, log in before the merge and the character will not be deleted.
*Hint* If you can't remember the last time you logged into a low level character, go ahead and log in just to be safe!
The servers will be merged during weekly maintenance this Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Vaizel characters will not have their name changed during the merge itself. Characters on Zikel who have a name conflict will have their name changed to a series of letters and numbers (example T456jp1). Zikel characters whose names are changed will receive a name change ticket.
*Important* You should select a new name immediately, even if you plan to appeal the name. You will not be able to group with others, or receive credit from dredge unless you have changed your name so that it no longer has numbers in it.
Zikel players and legions that lose their names can send a petition to Customer Service to appeal to get their name back. Click the buttons above to see the process! Please understand that we are doing our best to provide the most fair process to everyone involved!
Players have two weeks (3/28 4/11) from the date of the merge to appeal their names. Appeals sent after the 2 week deadline will not be considered.
Tune in to see Aion: Ascension producer Adam Christensen discuss 3.0, Truly Free, and also enjoy some stunning new 3.0 footage!
As you know one of the defining features of Aion is the ability of both the Elyos and the Asmodians to engage in martial contests for vast tracts of Atreia. As the game and Daevas have evolved a clear imbalance has take hold on some servers preventing the all-important PvP activity which everyone enjoys.
As a result NCSOFT has decided to take action in the near future to remedy this state of affairs!
On March 28, 2012 we will merge the populations of the Zikel and Vaizel servers. The new server will be named "Tiamat" after the last of the ascended Dragon Lords. It is our hope that this new server is as powerful and resilient as it's namesake.
Death is trivial to a Daeva. It is a necessary consequence of eternal war. Now our armies are massing, and friends once lost are returning to fight. We have never been more powerful. Join us as we ascend to even greater heights. Take up arms and charge into the heart of Tiamaranta!
With 3.0 right around the corner now, we are preparing internally for the technical side of this huge update! As we make these preparations, we need to lock everything down for a short period of time in order get all of the correct testing done.
Starting immediately, server transfers will be locked. The server transfer queues will not open again until after the launch of 3.0. Starting on Wednesday, 3/21, all other account services such as plastic surgery tickets will be unavailable as well.
This is an important step in preparing the servers and the databases for 3.0. Take this is a positive sign we are getting close to both Truly Free and 3.0!
Our reactivations period ended this morning. Welcome back to our returning players who have resubscribed!
Just a reminder, the set of Miragents/Fenris armor only goes to all active, paid accounts as of the end of the day, March 12, 2012. A data pull will be done early morning on the 13th to determine eligible accounts.
The set will be applied as a code on your master NCSOFT account during normal weekly maintenance on Wednesday. You can then assign the set to the character of your choice. The character will receive the set that is the default for its class.
Don't forget to resubscribe tonight if you haven't already so you don't miss out on the armor set!
