Ask Kinslon: Aion v1.9 Interview #1

Aion v1.9 is coming up just around the corner and our Daeva of Journalism, Aquilanius, had the opportunity to interrogate Producer Chris "Kinslon" Hager. During the interview, Kinslon is forthcoming with the nitty-gritty information about the stun defense system and daily quests coming in 1.9. Over the coming weeks we plan to continue these mini interviews until Kinslon's information well is dry. Stay tuned!

Aquilanius: How exactly will the stun defense skills work?

Kinslon: You can purchase the Remove Shock skill from your character's appropriate skill trainer (preceptor). Once your character has learned the skill you've purchased, if your character becomes stunned in combat, Remove Shock becomes available as a chain skill that you can use to remove the stun and increase your character's resistance to stun, knockback, and similar conditions for 7 seconds. At later levels, class-specific skills that you can also learn will act as chain skills that let you go on the offensive in addition to the basic abilities of Remove Shock.

Relaunch of the Official Forums

Greetings Daevas,

Earlier today we launched the beta version of our new and improved forums. We're still working hard to improve them and will continue to do so throughout the rest of the week. As we gather your feedback and find bugs of our own, we will intermittently bring the forums down for maintenance. Because of this maintenance, the Aion forums will be offline from time to time throughout this week.

When the forums are unavailable, you can follow the Community Team through the following channels.

Eye on Community 04.02.2010

Question of the Week

NeeHi of [ENG] Perento asks:

"Coming from a long D&D background, I'd like to know if there is an officially recognized unofficial RP server? Or whether there are any plans to do so?"

Good question, NeeHi. Before launching Aion a broad array of polls were held across the many Aion communities that had formed around the game. These polls served the purpose of indicating where certain player groups had decided to play after launch. A list was eventually devised that summarized the choices of roleplaying and individual language communities.

Server Restarts April 2, 2010

The Aion game servers are currently down for unscheduled maintenance.

We are working to resolve any issue that is causing this downtime and are hoping to get the servers back up again quickly.

East Coast Servers will be restarted at 12pm EDT, West Coast Servers at 12pm CDT and Nezekan has already been restarted.

Thank you for your patience!

Meet Team Aion at Sakura-Con

Several members of the Aion team will be hosting a panel during Sakura-Con this Saturday, April 3, at 3:00 p.m. PDT in Seattle, Washington. During the panel, Aion Producer Chris Hager, Game Content Writer Jessica Downs, and Community Manager Andrew Beegle will be talking about bringing Aion from the East to the West and will be presenting a clear example of those eastern roots and how they relate to anime.

If you can't make the event but live in Seattle, feel free to follow our whereabouts using Foursquare. If you track us down, we might even have some goodies for you!
